Get out and enjoy it while you can

May 29, 2021

Met Eireann’s forecast for Ireland today is looking good, with temperatures of up to 21 degrees expected and sunshine after a cloudy start.
While the great weather is expected to continue tomorrow, the meteorological service predicted a big change midweek as a depression over the country looks set to bring rain.
Today, though, temperatures will range from 16C along the coasts to 20 or 21 degrees inland, forecasters said.
It’s set to brighten up this afternoon “with good sunshine for all” but with a few afternoon showers may “bubble up” in the east and north.
Tonight will be dry and clear with light variable breezes, while sea fog will develop on the south coast, drifting inland there at times. Lowest temperatures will fall to seven or eight degrees.
Meanwhile, Sunday will be dry, warm and sunny with a few afternoon showers and highest temperatures between 19 to 21 degrees, in light southerly or variable breezes.
It’s set to be dry and clear on Sunday night with light southerly breezes, while mist and fog may continue to affect southern coasts at times, drifting inland in places. Lowest temperatures six to nine degrees.

Met Eireann’s outlook for the week ahead is as follows:
“Monday dry and mainly sunny with temperatures reaching 20 degrees inland, a little cooler on coasts. Winds will be light, occasionally moderate and sea breezes may develop in the afternoon. Monday night will be dry and clear with temperatures of between 7 and 9 degrees in light breezes.
“Tuesday will be warmer with temperatures up to 22 degrees inland, once again, cooler at the coast. A few showers may develop in the west in the afternoon where it may turn cloudier later. Winds once again mainly light or moderate southeasterly. Tuesday night will be mainly dry and clear with temperatures of 12 or 13 degrees overnight.
“Uncertainty increases from the midweek period when the progress of a depression northwards over the country looks set to bring rain. At the moment it looks like Wednesday will start out dry with the warm and sunny conditions persisting through the morning, then cloud and rain will develop on the south coast and extend northwards through the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures will be in Ulster and Connacht, reaching 21 degrees there, more typically between 15 and 17 degrees elsewhere.
“The outlook for Thursday and beyond is for unsettled conditions with showers at times.”
